TechCrunch Live (formerly Extra Crunch Live) will be back in February, and we have a fantastic line-up to start the new season. Changes are coming to the event. A.D. Look for more peach decks, multiple pick-offs, and other top founders / investors in 2022.
Last year’s competition ended on a high note. We explained how the pilot founder Index Ventures convinced him to think long and hard about margins. Earlier, Eileen Lee and Rachel Carlson presented the first peach floor of Guild Education. They are here, but we hope you join us in 2022. We always ask good questions from the audience to ask guests, and soon beginners can apply to start their own company.
TechCrunch Live helps founders build better venture-supported businesses. We do this to bring together the founders and the investors they support to talk about what really helped to close the deal. What are the investors looking at? What questions did the founders answer that made VCs want to learn more? How did the founders convey their great vision and step-by-step plan to get there?
We cover all of these things – by looking at the previous Peach floors of these companies and more – on TechCrunch Live. TechCrunch Live is also the home of the TCL Pitch-off, where the founders in the audience can get their start and end up in a virtual platform where they can get their live comments.
Like any Tech Crunch event, this weekly series provides a network for you to connect and greet other audiences.
The event airs every Wednesday afternoon PT / 3 pm ET and is free to attend. Only TechCrunch + members can access the complete content library, so if you haven’t already, sign up now!
And without further ado, check out the wonderful guests who joined us on TechCrunch Live in February.
Kani Makubella (Kindred Venture) + Dr. Jeff Wesler (Heartbeat Health)
February 9 – 12pm PT / 3pm ET
Dr. Jeff Wesler worked together to improve heart rate health in 2016 for better cardiac care. After writing the company’s pre-genetic check, Kenny Makubella joined the Heartbeat Health Founding Team and the Board of Directors in 2017. Macedonian company Kindred Ventures has invested in heart rate health for the next two rounds. Listen to Tessel on how Wesler put MacBelebla on the big plan and finally got the funding.
Emalin Shaw (Floric Venture) + Ittai Damti (Unit)
February 16 – 12pm PT / 3pm ET
Ittai Damti was formed in 2019 to help businesses integrate banking services with their consumer products. A.D. In 2020, Emalin Shaw, as a Florence Managing Partner, invested in Unit Series, and later, Company B Round. Join us at TCL as we discuss the Peach floor, which helped close the fundraising deal with Unit early days and Floris.
Nina Acadjian (Index Venture) + DeepScribe
February 23 – 12pm PT / 3pm ET
Achilles Bapu co-founded DeepScribe while working on a UC Berkeley master’s program. The company is now five years old and has raised $ 30 million worth of Index Ventures led by Nina Acadjian. We are excited to find out on TCL the couple’s recent increase and what it took for Index Ventures to gain attention (and money).
